Wilbur travelled back in time to the ancient world and used his intelligence to improve the rural town. However, the female empress mistakenly believed he was a corrupt official. Fortunately, after the misunderstanding was cleared up, the empress decided to join forces with Wilbur to combat the treacherous ministers in the court. The ministers sent assassins to kill the empress, but Wilbur thwarted their plans with his firearms. When the ministers attempted to force the empress to abdicate by exploiting a natural disaster, Wilbur used cannons to create artificial rain and resolve the crisis. As the ministers instigated a military coup, Wilbur employed advanced military technology to quell the uprising. Ultimately, he donned steel armour to overpower the most formidable minister of the era, successfully helping the empress consolidate her throne. In the end, Wilbur left the county town and followed Empress Wu Lengshuang to the capital to take up an official position.
