The orphan Rosalie was forced to sign a contract of servitude to repay the gambling debts her uncle owed to Braden, the young master of the Blake family. This agreement made her Braden's contract girlfriend. However, the fondness that Braden's grandmother developed for Rosalie made her a thorn in the eye of Braden's real girlfriend, Lexi.
