Jillian's daughter Stella died in the kindergarten collapse incident. Her husband Nicholas rushed to rescue, but was occupied saving the daughter of Irene, the woman he loved. Before passing away, Stella asked Jillian why her father didn't come to save her, leaving Jillian distraught. Nicholas did not show up at Stella's funeral, as he was busy taking care of Irene and her daughter at the hospital. He only learned of his daughter's death when his brother found him. Upset by Nicholas's absence at the funeral, Jillian demanded a divorce. Upon investigation by Aydan, Jillian discovered Nicholas purchasing property for Irene, prompting her decision for revenge.
